Dream Kitchen OR the next Hung?

Those of you that know me - know that I have been on a qwest to get some big tv show to come in and make over my kitchen! We all know that Oprah has not come through (even though I sent in my big dream over 2 years ago - an awesome video, I must say!) and that Martha is just downright LAME. Well, SB sent me a link to a new reality tv show last week. It turns out that you have to be able to travel through the end of March (so we just missed it!) Anyway, I filled out the application and was reading the 4 page agreement and came across this:

  Companies’ use or revelation of Personal Information and
  Recordings may be embarrassing, unfavorable, humiliating,
  and/or derogatory and/or may portray him or her in a false
  light. Each applicant agrees to release, discharge and hold

  without limitation, claims for slander, libel, defamation,
  violation of rights of privacy, publicity, personality, and/or civil
  rights, depiction in a false light, intentional or negligent
  infliction of emotional distress, copyright infringement, and/or
  any other tort and/or damages arising from or in any way
  relating to the submission of a Participant Application,
  participation in the selection process, participation in the
  Program, the use of the Personal Information or Recordings
  and/or the use of the applicant's name, voice, and/or likeness
  in connection with the Program, or the promotion thereof in
  all media now known or hereafter devised. Applicants are
  required to sign Releases to this effect. "

Am I old or WHAT?!!

We got back from Portland last Sunday and then my 16 year old niece came for her Spring Break. A had a lot of fun and we worked her hard! We worked LONG hours and only saw the hotel and the drive from the hotel to the convention center. What is the deal with all the no turns in downtown Portland. We had to go way around just to turn LEFT!!!

We had a GREAT time and I learned quite a bit last week. OF course we had to notice all the HOT guys (I had forgotten what it was like to be 16!!). So the big question of the week is:

What in the world does EMO mean? I will let you in on the lingo later in the week - until then go ahead and post your guesses!

Off to Portland

A and I are off on a mother/daughter trip. We are going to be working at CKC scrapbooking convention. I am very excited that A gets to come with me this time. So, if you check back and there are no new posts - that is why!

Problem Fixed

I have fixed the black issue from the previous post by making my header a little bigger. Although, now it is a bit too big. But. . . you will have to live with that little flaw for awhile. I am just excited to have a new look!

Our little C has started a family newsletter. She thought of it and put it together all on her own. It is so adorable and I think she might have a future in this area. She has it formatted with 3 columns and each article comes equipped with its own headline and she makes use of many fonts. She is amazing! It is in a weird program though so it can't be converted. But. . . here is one of her articles regarding the PTO President (Yours truely)
"The yearbook had to be ready in ten days, so please start working on the yearbook."

Our little editor is soooo CUTE!

UGHHH!!

I have a new header and I can't figure out how to get rid of the black padding behind it! Anyone have any suggestions. I played around with the numbers under header setting but can seem to get it right. When I do preview it looks GREAT and then when I go to save it, I get the black line!

My very long lost friends, Janie and Hill, whom I lived with for a couple of months right before my wedding has joined the blogging community. I am so excited to have a way other than the telephone (which hasn't worked too well over the years) of keeping up on what's going on with them. So, WELCOME!!!!

Mommy Necklace

I just love my "mommy" necklace. My friend Sillybug and Sandi gave it to me for helping them in LA at the CHA show. I cried when they gave it to me - never mind the fact that I hadn't really slept AT ALL for a few nights and was pretty much emotionally wiped - I have never had "mommy" jewlery! I love it!

Papa Smurf

I am not going to go on and on about where I have been or why I haven't been blogging - suffice (used that word just for you Kelly) it to say that I have been ignoring the blogging world lately. I know many of you are nodding your heads in heavy agreement about that right about now. I don't know if I will be back on track or not BUT. . . we'll just take it one day at a time!

SO - What in the world is gonna happen with Papa Smurf tonight? Is he gonna bail and do you think he broke his ribs? I thought maybe he was ok after eating pig snout last week. That just goes to show you what being hungry and having too much adrenaline can do for you! (if you are lost then that is because you aren't watching survivor!)

All I Want for My Birthday is My Two Front Teeth

Finally! After about two months of literally looser than loose front teeth - THEY BOTH FELL OUT!

Edited to say - tonight when he was headed to bed and wanted his tooth that I had put in a little baggie - well, I couldn't find it anywhere! Turns out that I had thrown it away and SB had thrown the trash out! SB had to go digging through the dumpster!

NORTH DAKOTA??

Well, it snowed again! At least this time it was only a couple of inches and it wasn't as cold so it didn't really stick to the roads. I am beginning to wonder if someone up and moved us to North Dakota while I was sleeping a few weeks back.

Dreamin

It is only January and I am dreaming on WARM Sunny weather! I am sorry that my bloggin has come down to complaining about the weather - BUT in all fairness the desert is NOT supposed to be this cold EVER! I was watching the news last night and they are forecasting more snow for tonight through Saturday and they say this is a BIG one! yeah - well they are just trying to cover their rears because last time they said we were just going to get a quick inch and 18 inches later we were covered!

NOT AGAIN!!!!

It may look like you have seen these pictures before, BUT... you haven't! We are in the middle of yet another snow storm! This time it isn't any little measly 8 inch storm - so far we have over 15 inches and it is still snowing! I am sure these pictures speak for themselves!

Winter Wonderland

It started snowing yesterday morning and is still lightly snowing. So far we have gotten 8 inches! It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!!! Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!! (couldn't help myself!!!)

Elevator in China!

SB and I went to finish up our last minute Christmas shopping yesterday. Our travels took us to the mall where we needed to go upstairs. I don't know if many of you realize that handicap accessible doesn't mean convenient! Well, it is the honest truth and yesterday proves that! We decided to go up the escalator (yes! I did mean the escalator and not the elevator!) and when we got ready to come down the escalator there was a sign - a professionally made sign, not a hand written sign - that said "Elavator in China"! I couldn't help but to laugh! It took me until we got most of the way down the escalator to realize that it meant that the elevator was to be found in the china department (fine dishes)! All that I could wrap my mind around was that someone had finally SAW THE LIGHT!! and had decided to publish what I have known for over 20 years - accessibility doesn't mean convenient!!!!

Calendar Woes

It is that time of the year when the calendar starts to run out and it is time to get a new one! I had found a wonderful calendar this last year and went to get another one just like it but . . . of course they didn't have the one I wanted - which sent me looking for a new one! I found one I think I am going to really like but the cover wasn't going to work for me. I ripped off the cover and made a new one. I put cute little ribbon tabs where the months started and joila - THE PERFECT calendar for my new year!

Christmas Tree Cutting Expedition

This weekend we drove out to the mountains and chopped down our very own Christmas Tree! It was definitely a first for all of us. We had such a great time. Our tree is very cute and has such character! The part I liked best is that we got to pick it!! Here is a tip though for those who have never done this and think they might want to - the trees look smaller in the wild! We thought ours was going to be tiny in our house, but. . . it is pretty full. Someone had told us to make sure that SB stood next to it and make sure it wasn't going to be too tall! We did manage not to get a tree that was too tall.There was snow still in the mountains too - so the kids made snowballs! We had a great time. We celebrated C's birthday also with a trip to Frontier for breakfast.

SURPRISE!!!!

I am here and alive! I think this might be the longest blog lag in the history of my blog! Well here I am and here is a recap on my last month.

• Trip to Pheonix and Phantom of the Opera was awesome! We totally surprised the kids and they didn't figure out we were on our way to Pheonix until after we were already out of town! They thought we were just going the wrong way to school! Once we were there, SB surprised A with Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinal tickets that we got from Treasure's Father-in-law. Dallas won, by the way!
• I am officially all healed and feeling GREAT!!!
• I am working with my friend doing ad work for her new business, Across The Street (scrapbooking manufacturing business)! Marchelle and her partner, Sandi, really are geniuses with really great ideas. I completed my first ad for a real life magazine just this week. It is fun being creative and BOY, do I have alot to learn.
• We are getting ready for C's birthday and for Jesus' birthday! It is hard to believe that another year has come and is almost gone! It just doesn't seem possible.
  

That is just a small recap and I am sorry that I haven't been so diligent and I fear that I have lost some readers and have fallen into that category of long forgotten boring blogs like this one here Bergan Brand! If you happen to click on this one - you will notice the last entry is JUNE 17!!!! I never want that kind of fate for my dear beloved blog! I will try to make a better effort at keeping my blog ALIVE!!!

Phantom

SB and I are going to see "The Phantom of the Opera" tonight! His parents bought us tickets as kind of a" recovering and getting back in the swing of living" treat! I have never seen this show, but it is one I have really wanted to see and just never have! We are going to get dressed up and have a great time! Great big shout out to Muggins and Gumpa for our big night!

Time for a new post! Wouldn't you agree?!!

This past weekend was marked by yet another year of my life passing away! I had decided years ago that 35 was going to be the perfect year - I have since decided that all the years are the perfect year! Each year is special and holds dear memories for different reasons. I am really enjoying being me! I love my husband, my awesome kids, my extended family, my friends both far and near AND I am absolutely loving my new VACUUM cleaner (thanks mom and dad for getting me an ORECK!!!!!- all in all I am really loving life. My mother and father in law bought SB and I tickets to see Phantom of the Opera this week. I have never ever seen this before in any form and am very excited to get to do something so different.

We celebrated the passing of the year with a trip to the zoo and a ride on the zoo train. It was a gorgeous day and felt great to be outside hanging out with those I love. While at the zoo, I took this picture and I think it is one of my all time favorites - Mugs, A says you should paint this one! Notice B's pants are his baseball pants and in his hip pocket is his camera! He is really getting tall!
